5 ways Witches can bring the Earth element into their home and life.

The beginning of February is often when we begin to see the very first stirrings of the promise of Spring. We're past the darkest time of the year and it's a time to begin to prepare for the new cycles of life.

This is a fantastic time to bring some element of Earth into your space to help keep you grounded and to remind you of the warm, lush days ahead.

Here are some suggestions on how you might be able to do that for yourself:

1. Place items associated with the Earth element around the home, such as crystals, stones, and plants.

One great way to add Earth element items to your home is to use crystals and stones like jasper, tiger’s eye, pyrite, and hematite. Place them in various areas of your home to create a balanced energy. Additionally, plants like aloe vera, lavender, and rosemary are associated with the Earth element and can bring a calming, grounding energy to your home. Placing potted plants in different areas of your home also adds a beautiful touch of nature. (make sure to use pet-safe plants if you have any 4 legged babies)

2. Incorporate earth-based colors into your décor, such as shades of brown, green, and yellow.

One way to incorporate Earth-based colors into your décor is to add in items like a natural fiber rug in shades of brown and green, or a bright yellow throw pillow to add a pop of color. You could also hang art pieces with earthy tones and natural wood frames, and use live plants to bring in fresh green hues. Adding accents like clay pottery and woven baskets in warm tones can also give the space an earthy feel.

3. Make use of natural materials when decorating or making items for the home, such as wood, clay, and stone.

Using natural materials when decorating or making items for the home can bring a unique and special touch to your space. Wood can be used to make furniture, shelves, and even clocks. Clay can be used to make sculptures and pottery. Stone can be used to create wall designs and sculptures. All of these materials can bring a natural and organic feel to your home. With a little creativity and imagination, you can create stunning pieces that will make your home look more magickal.

4. Incorporate Earthy fragrances into your home’s atmosphere.

Earthy scents, such as patchouli, vetiver, and sandalwood, to bring a calming and grounding atmosphere to your space. These scents can help create a sense of balance and tranquility. To get the most out of these scents, you can use essential oils, incense, or even a scented candle.

Our Book of Shadows and Midnight Ride scented candles both have earthy bases to their fragrance. The BoS candle has a warm amber and sandalwood aroma, while the Ride candle has a rich woodsy and musk aroma. Both fragrances are designed to evoke a sense of nature and the outdoors.

5. Perform rituals outdoors to connect with the nature spirits of the Earth element.

Rituals are a great way to connect with nature spirits and the Earth element. To perform rituals outdoors, begin by finding a peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can do this in your yard, on a balcony, or even a window sill or surface next to a window if outside space isn’t easily accessible.

Create a small altar with items that represent the four elements – Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These can be crystals, stones, feathers, candles, incense, and a bowl of water.

Once your altar is set up, begin your ritual. You can light a candle, burn incense, and use your chosen items to connect with the energies of the Earth element. Focus on your intention for the ritual and take some time to meditate and connect with nature. After the ritual is complete, give thanks to the nature spirits and the Earth element for their presence and support.
